My mom and I, my Aunt Nancy and cousin Amy, my Aunt Hilda and Uncle Danny boarded a plane for NYC for 5 days this week! We had a wonderful quick flights, and just the most perfect NYC weather ever!
We dropped our luggage off at the hotel, and literally booked it to our NBC tour!Boy did we have a blast!
Amy and I scored 4 tickets to the Seth Meyers monologue rehearsal! We sat feet from seth meyers and laughed our butts off....such amazing memories!
Claire's fav Jimmy Fallon word!
My view just as the sun set on top of the Empire State Building
Our next day was spent at The Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island....just amazing!
My view from the pedalstool!
Amy, Uncle Danny, and & I made it to the top of the crown! Boy was the trek up the stair worth the view!
Our view straight down......
Ellis Island did not dissapoint.....
We were rewarded after a day of busy busy, with the most wonderful Italian meal of all! Patsy's!
We all headed out to explore Central Park before lunch, and boy we walked and walked and still on explored a sliver of the amazing Central Park!
But our reward for all that walking was great....we had reservations at Tavern on the Green and it was lovely in every way!!
We then ventured out to Grand Central Terminal and marveled at the architecture at every turn....and the vast size was awesome!
We then ventured to Little Italy and Chinatown!! Little Italy is getting smaller and smaller, and overtaken with Chinese shops! But we enjoyed walking up and down the streets nonetheless!
Sunday am, mom and I ventured out to mass at St. Patrick's Cathedral, and it did NOT disappoint! I thought it was one of the most beautiful churches I have ever seen! It happened to be National Poland Day, so the mass was concelebrated by a cardinal from Poland and a cardinal of NYC....truly a blessing to have been at that mass!
We got our second wind after mass and went to see Chiacago on Broadway...we had 2nd row seats and mom was in heaven! We loved every second!!!
The 9/11 Memorial and museum was amazing and heartbreaking all in one....
A lovely random park in the Financial District
Amy and I walked the Brooklyn Bridge on a lovely day! No sleep...til Brooklyn!
And yes, this was my 3rd trip to NYC and that naked cowboy is still there after some 16 years.....surely it's not the same guy!!! WOW! I am so blessed to have been able to take this trip with my mom and her sisters and cousin and uncle. Memories for a lifetime! But boy did I miss my other 3 back home.....pics coming soon of them!!!
