Off to Huntsville.....Let the 2023 Golf Season begin!

Well, the 2023 Competitive Golf Season for Claire has begun!  She played an absolutely brutal hard RTJ Hampton Cove Course in Huntsville in brutal wind and cold to start out, but things improved some during the 54 hole tourney.  She has some major work to do, but pulled a 4th place overall.  This was a great wake up call for Claire to see what parts of her game needed the most improvement as she heads into her spring season.  She met some amazing girls from all over the US and that was a blast for her.  Many of these were AJGA girls so she was glad to hang in with them! ANd of course, the size factor always comes into play with claire!

Welcome to Miami.....

Well, Lance had to be in Miami last week for a big investment conference at the Fountainbleu so I took the opportunity to see some sunshine and came with him!  Claire enjoyed the break from us as well I think!!!  We had so flight and rental car issues tight off the bat, but the trip was still great and had temps in the 70's and sunshine every day!  We enjoyed cuban cuisine, and the best mojito ever.

The view from across the street was magnificent.  We had the ocen on one side and this canal on the other....lots to see and gawk at!

We took a day trip to the Everglades on our final day and tool an Eco tour.  It did not disapoint and he stopped all along the everrglades to point out so many things...mainly allligators !

We touk a hike inside a Cypress dome which was amazing and full of rare birds, trees, and snakes...

The tour took us across florida to the gulf side and dolphins followed in the wake of our boat....that was a blast to see!

So glad to have had the opportunity to relax and chill with Lance for a few days!  Let golf season begin!!

 

Winterfest Time

Well SBA finally was able to have their dance after the basketball game last night and Claire had a blast with her friend Alex.  I am pretty sure Claire changed into her hightops by the time she got on that dance floor!!

 

Bit of a slow down in January

Well, it's just been weird lately....Memphis has had uncharacteristically cold temps...cold, icy , rainy, you name it...haven't seen the sun in forever.  Therefore it's been impossible for Ms Claire to really play any actual golf.  There ws to be a big Snowflake Semi-Formal last week, but the whole Tyre Nichols thing happened and they shut the city down in case unrest happen....Well thank goodness our city has handles this with such class and only peaceful protests occurred.  So, Claire's friends dressed up anyway and had a party at someone's house.  The actual dance will be reschduled to tonight!  The pic above is Claire and her friend Alex...they are going to the dance tonght as friends.

Despite all the weather, Claire goes to wherever she can find a heated covered bay and practice.  This pic was taken at 31 degrees.  Go Claire go!

When we are iced in, I have been having a blast with my cricut....I have labeled everything in this house in the cutest way ever.

Jesse had a trying last semester and really wasn't loving electrical engineering and how everything was pivoting towards power...so he did a big pivot this semester and is changing to computer engineering. That's his gift anyway. It's not going to affect when he graduates...and he is SOOO much happier and will still have his GM internship starting May 2023.
