She Did It Again!

Well, Claire is on a streak!  She won first place for the 3rd week in a row!  This week was a 2 day USJGT event at Quail Ridge from 5900 yards.  She had a few issues, but took care of business in the end and pulled out the win.  We are so proud of her resolve and amazing effort in the off season that is really starting to show, now that the competitive golf season is upon us....Go Claire Go!!!!!

Claire getting her hardware from Coach Cliff.  He's a legend in the Junior Golf Community here in Memphis and also a Coach of the amazing MUS boys' golf team.

She Does It Again!! This time in Maumelle, Ark.

Well, since it was Claire's Spring Break, we traveled Friday to Maumelle, Ark for the SSJC Spring Fever Tourney.  She had a brutal wet, cold, and windy practice round.  But that was followed with 2 days of sunshine and perfect weather...something we have not had down here for months and months.  She played solid golf and came out ahead by quite a few strokes.  So proud of Claire turning a corner this season!

Also, her win in this event qualified her for the Callaway World Championships in Sand Diego in July!  Go little bit go!

Champion!

Yes, Memphis did get 5 inches of snow Friday night and yes, they still had the Hurricane Tournament.....today were the most brutal course conditions I think Claire has played thus far.  Her ball got absolutely zero roll ...but she played solid golf and won the hardware today.  She has turned a corner!! What a great (and wet, and cold, and windy) way to start Spring Break!!!

Happy Adoption Day !!! and.....Spring 2022 Competitive Golf has Begun...and what a way to start!!!!!!

Well, this little one has worked her tail off the entire off season and I mean in golf and with her trainer.  She got her first set of real ladies clubs 5 days ago, and a new putter 4 days ago.  Needless to say, we were a nervous wreck watching Claire with her new gear that she wasn't used to quite yet. She proved us wrong....  We traveled to Franklin for a 2 day tourney at Franklin Bridge. Well, she had a fantastic day 1 and a rougher day 2, but she pulled out a 2nd place finish among the best golfers around!  Her finish also qualified her for a spot in the Notah Begay Qualifier in September.  Go Claire go!

The first day of the tournament was also Claire's 15th Adoption Day!  Every year for adoption day Claire gets to choose where we eat.  So being out of town, she chose a little hole in the wall that serves bento boxes, poke bowl, and bubble tea.  It was fantastic! Way to read those Google reviews Claire!

Claire travels to RTJ Trail Hampton Cove in Huntsville.....

Well, Claire played in a brutal, and I mean brutal, 3 day54 hole Hurrican Event.  Sadly, she placed 8 out of 12 and boy were the conditions rough...but Claire needs to learn to play in all conditions and brutally hard  courses....Nonetheless, Jesse came to see her and we still had a great time!

Beautiful stuff to look at all throughout the course!

Hills, hills, and more hill....And oh the sand!!!

Peeking over from a hill watching Claire....

Claire was luck to play with girls from all over on this tourney.  This new friend flew in from Dublin, Ohio.

I enjoyed house watching throughout the weekend!  There were no pics from day 3 due to the brutal winds and rain...I coudlnt feel my fingers to take pictures!  I can only imagine how Claire felt!!

More tournaments coming soon!!!

Busy Week!

Claire's first day of school with no braces...and happened to be a dress up day!  She looks like a young lady to me now!!!

Jesse and the MSU Roadrunners took a day trip to Birmingham for team building at Top Golf!  He was excited to show off his golf skills...despite the cold temps!

We miss Jesse, and he's slammed at school, but next week we will meet us in Huntsville for Claire's 1st tourney of the 2022 season!  We are so excited to see him!!!

And the braces are off!!!! Finally......

Before......

And Finally!!! Cliare has had mouth issues from day one.  After 20 extractions, 2 sets of expanders, and 2 sets of braces, Claire finally got her braces off for the last time!  She was so so so giddy!  Her doctor loves her after taking care of her and Jesse all these years that we took pics and even gave him a pair of dentist socks with his picture on them...He was ecstatic!  All around a good day for Claire!  She looks like a teen now to me!

I immediately took her to golf and she bounced into that clubhouse all smiles!!!  Glad to see a smiling Claire!!

Snowed in in NYC!!!

Well these pics are totally out of order so bear with me!  I went to NYC last Thursday with Julie Kate for a long weekend full of touristy NYC Things!  The main reason for the trip though, was to see her cousin in her last performance on Braodway as Glenda on Wicked! Thanks to COVID, they check the vaccinated performers all the time and she tested positive days before we were to leave to see her.  Because all the tickets were bought and reservations made, we went ahead and made the trip!  We still saw Wicked of course, but with the understudy as Glenda.  We were disappointed we couldn't see her  and she never had her "last perfromance".  Well, Ginna Claire is moving on the bigger and better things and starring in her own Halmark movie!  So that's the upside!

So, we arrived in NYC and of couse they start talking about the snow cyclone bomb thing...and so we were there for all of that!  NYC did not shut down a thing!  We did all our reservations, museums, ballet, and bever missed a beat.  You rock New York!

So every fancy dog had fancy clothes and shoes....it was a hoot!

My body isn't equipped for 18 degrees.

We took a walking food tour of China Town and little Italy and were the only ones to show up!  Our guide was a hoot and we just had a blast!  I have never been so full!  I love Chinese food and Italian equally the same and was blown away by it all!

We had reservations at the old school italian Patsy's and it was absolutely amazing....
Best dancers ever....such an interesting performance.  We saw 3 separate dances and they were all so different!  The Lincoln center was gorgeous!

Julie Kate had never been to the Museum of Natural History and we just were like school kids in there....really amazing

So of course if you know me you know I love my deals and I love my bags.  Bartering is sport to me.  So of course since we were in Chinatown I had to find some bargains after our tour.  I was a good girl and only purchased 3 items.

My little bracelet that was so fun to bargain for

This was my bag that took some work in a side alley with a tiny Chinese lady.  We were walking away when we finally agreed to a price!

And this one is for Claire and she's yet to see it...it's a simple crossbody with a tassel and leather logo.  No metal on this one!

And of course Wicked!

These are the best seats I've ever had to any show.  No one was in front of me for 3 rows and I could actually see every piece of ths stage!!! My favorite musical!

This is Julie Kate's cousin, who was home in quarantine....
Times Square freezing fun on the first night!

Homemade pasta and sauce!

Our guide with fresh canoli!

So glad I had the opportunity to take a few days for myself.  Lance held down the fort in Memphis and spent lots of time with Claire!  They had a blast without me !!!
