A weekend off...and vaccines, vaccines, vaccines!!

Well, Claire had a local USJGT tourney scheduled for Saturday, but it has rained and rained here, so the tourney was cancelled.  SO, we changed our plans and met friends for dinner and then desert at the new Milk Bar.  Now that all the adults are fully vaccinated, we are finally venturing out a tad!  So we had a blast and Claire staistfied her sweet tooth!

Claire is one of the 5 finalists in the Commercial Appeal's I Am Sport Award this year....and the only underclassman to boot!  This award is for an outstanding high school athlete who has extraordinary volunteerism and citizenship....so proud of her for her nomination.  WKNO interviewed her and also came to Quail to watch and film her play....can't wait to see what comes of it!!Go Claire Go!

Fun decorating the porch for Easter...Claire did the cross sign on a rainy afternoon in 10 minutes!

And last but not least, I have been so proud to be a part of local efforts in Memphis and Bartlett to vaccinate as many as possible.  I have no pics of me at the mass vaccination sites, as I am so bust I don't stop, but on this day I got to help vaccinate 743 teachers and staff of the Bartlett School System....so rewarding and fun!

Claire goes to Huntsville for a 2 Day SSJC Event!

Our 3rd week in a row of brutal 2 day tournaments ended today in Huntsville, AL at an amazingly beautiful and difficult Robert Trent Jones Hampton Cove Trail.  Claire played from 5800 yds and struggled, but, apparantly so did many girls.  So she pulled a 3rd place in her division, which was a pleasant suprise!  We enjoyed the rolling hills, the scenery, the houses, and meeting new people.  Claire's just in another class of golf now...the girls are WAY bigger and have been playing golf for years and years.....needless to say, little bit has some catching up to do, and she will!

My view from almost every hole....

Brutal obstacles all over the course...sand , sand, and more sand was everywhere!

This is the size I was talking about.....

Lance was able to be her caddy and offer advice WHEN she asked for it....

we were tired and weary and sun burned, but didn't care!

Claire with the tournament director...he forgot to hand her the medal in the clubhouse so he grabbed a cart and found us packing up in the parking lot!  She enjoyed theis event, despite higher scores than she would typically like!  Go Claire Go!!!

Busy Week!

So we traveled outside of Birmingham to another brutally hard course for Claire to compete in her 2nd Hurrican Tour event...she placed last and learned so much.  This is new territory to CLaire...losing that is.  She is learning form the elite competiton and courses and will just get better....not to mention shes been the youngest and of course smallest....go Claire go!  On to Huntsville this week!

Every hole was on a beautiful rolling hill with lovely views!

Jesse!!! So glad he and Emily came to support Claire!  We even visited Samford while we were there, and Claire loved it!

My hair was on the news giving vaccines!

Claire getting putting help from the regualrs at Quail Ridge!

I love the delicous lunches that give to us nurse volunteers after a great day giving vaccines!!!

Off to Huntsville in a few days...will post soon!

Claire starts travel golf!

Well, our little one has begun her first travel 2 day tournament golf  season!  We began in Nashville and had a brutal start.....She played at the beautiful Vanderbilt Legends Course.  It's a Div 1 Home course for Vanderbilt and was long, long, long, hilly, windy, and wet.....did I mention wet?  So, needless to say, Claire had a high score, which she's not used to, and played some of the best in the country.  The pic above his her pairing from the second day, and she did post a better score than both of them....and they were seniors and junionrs... One of her opponents on day was was from Mayland, ended up winning the tourney, and was having to choose between Duke or Princeton!  She is in a different league now.....  This will only make her better!  These are the sized girls she will be playing against from here on out....but she will adapt and get better! Next weekend...off to Birmingham, Alabama!!!!
