Mirimichi Fun!

So Claire's travel golf is about to go into high gear, so we took her to Mirimichi yesterday for 18 holes.  She ended up playing with 2 guys  (who she beat by the way) who played in the NFL and are now in town playing for the Showboats.  She had an absolute blast playing with these gentlemen and saw lots of beautiful nature along the way!

This skunk did not mind that Claire was trying to tee off!

This beautiful bird was a foot from me and did not seem to care!

Claire ALMOST had a hole in one!  She's come this close twice.....one day!!!

We have a Senior!

Well, Claire finished her Junior Final Exams Thursday and is officially a senior!  We celebrated Friday with Poke Bowls, Boba teas, and shopping! So proud of this little one!

Jesse is living the life.  During the week he is interning and learning so much...and on  the weekends he gets together with his new group of GM intern friends.  He says he's the dumb one now!  Jokingly of course.  Jesse is interning with seniors shown here from Harvard, Carnegie Melon, Notre Dame, MIT, Georgia Tech....He met an intern adopted from China just like Claire and now they are fast friends.

My favorite of all my flowers this year.....

Big Week again!

Well, Jesse is offically a GM employee and loving it so far!  He is on a team of engineers programming an electric car that has not been developed yet and that is right up his alley!

Today was SBA underclassmen awards ceremony and Claire was one of the recipients of the Remmert Scholarship and will go towards her tuition next year! The Remmerts give a scholarship every year to the student who writes an essay of the meaning of a Catholic education.  It also requires excellend grades, recommendations, and service.... She also was the recipent of the Benedictine Cross Service Award!  So proud of Claire!  Go Claire Go!

This week has been anabsolute blur....last night I joined my girl cousins and future new girl cousin Sara (she is marrying my cousin Ben) at the most lovely Bachelorette Party on the rooftop of The Memphian Hotel....love all these ladies!

Friday night we celebrated Mother's Day for myself and Nana (Mrs Hollingsworth) early since Lance and Jesse were leaving the next day to take Jesse to his internship in Michigan!

Friday morning, sweet Emily graduated college!!!  She is now a 2nd grade teacher and will start in August!

Saturday am, Lance and Jesse left at 5 to make it to Indianapolis on the way to Milford, MI.  They decided to catch their first Indy race and had a blast!!!! Of course cars are Jesse's thing so this just was a great way to break up the drive!

Lance and Jesse left Indy early Sunday am to make it to Detroit to meet his fellow GM interns....They were from all over the USA....Dartmouth, Georgia Tech, Purdue....all the big engineering schools were repped.  He is going to have a blast!

While in Michigan , they were told to go to the Henry Ford Museum...they just loved it!

And so she turns 17.....

Claire turned 17 today and we were blessed with a beautiful day!  She opened a few items from us this am , and Jesse came home from school (thank goodness for being exempt from final exams!) and we took her friends out to The Cheesecake Factory for dinner and both sets of grandparents joined us all!!

Claire received her first flowers from a boy today!

We like it when she smiles in the morning.....

She was so grateful for all the fun and thoughtful gifts from her friends!  Anything Prismacolor makes her so so happy!!!

Her friend Riley is Australian, and she received "biscuits" from Australia.  I think they are cookies.....

So blessed that a few friends and family could join Claire in the middle of the week.  With golf last weekend and this coming weekend, we did the best with the situation!! Happy Birthday Claire...we are so proud lf the young woman you have become!!!!
