16th in the State of TN!

Claire had so many well wishers as she left for state last week!!! The day before we left there was a big box and it was new Ecco golf shoes from Lydia Ko to thank Claire for coming to watch her last weekend and for getting to state!!!  Claire shrieked! First of all, Claire REALLY wanted to place top 10...but a brutal Day 2 of putting prevented that.  She has big goals for next year.  But she played a really hilly and difficult Sevierville Golf Club Course and had a blast doing it.  We left a day early for state and went to Goodletsville, TN to watch a collegiate tourney that a coach invited her to.  She met all the players, and followed them each for a few holes.  She got to visit with the coach throughout the round and that was good.  I was afraid to take pictures because Claire didn't want me to be "that mom".  So I played it cool and didn't take a single pic.... The weather was so beautiful and we were blessed with 70's and sunshine!

So, yesterday Claire was having stuggles, and I can not make this up.  An eagle flew and landed next to Claire's hole and just stared at her group the entire hole.  I've never seen an eagle in the wild.  All the girls just stopped and took it in. A God moment for sure! After that Claire was all pars!! A good luck sign....

Claire is headed to State!!!

Claire fired a 76 today to qualify as an individual for the TSSAA State Golf Tourney in Sevierville, TN!  We are so proud of all her hard work and going above and beyond!!  Her AD Coach Dressman showed up and Coach Hervey cried!  She will play and rep West TN along with her friends from St. Mary's, St.Agnes, and Hutchison.  Go Claire go!!!

LPGA tourney weekend!

Claire was tickled to be invited again to the NWA LPGA Walmart Championship as a guest of Lydia Ko's this past weekend. Claire was on cloud nine all weekend. The pairing Saturday was Lydia, Nelly Korda, and Ally Ewing, who is a Mississippi State golf alum! Claire got to see so much amazing golf and interacted with Lydia throughout both days....not to mention perfect golf weather! The PGA needs to take a note from the LPGA book and make the tournaments affordable....all food, beer, and hard seltzers were under $5! A blast was had!

 

MSU Tourney...and a Jesse visit!

Claire had a 2 day at The MSU Course and boy was it a chellenge for her.  She struggled both days, but luckily so did everyone else...Sghe pulled a 2nd place in her division, so that was good! The course was in the middle of nowhere (except for MSU of course,) and the place was really full of nature and wilflife. Jesse, ever the photographer, caught so many pretty things. He also brought Emily and friends on both days to cheer on Claire...she had a little gallery!

Claire's school friend and fellow golfer Cash got a tour of MSU after the tournament and Jesse even got him down on the MSU football field.....

Concert Fun!

Well, everyone knows I love my concerts, and 3 years ago Julie Kate and I went to seehTHe Backstreet Boys and they returned last night! We had an absolute blast and amazing seats as well!!!! It's been a horrible week in Memphis this past week, and this made it a tad better. I think Memphis has had its final wake up call and things are about to change....  

So much fun!!!

 

3rd in the Sondra Pitts Tourney!

Well little bit played some good golf today vs 54 of the girls from all over Memphis and Jackson, TN today!  Shot a solid 76 and came in 3rd to her friends and fellow amazing golfers!! Go Claire go!

Another Low Medalist and Another WIn!!

Claire had some difficulty with the Glen Eagle Course today at the Navy Base....but apparantly so did every other golfer! Hardest greens she's played on in months.  Way to go Claire and Tanier for pulling great scores to win today for the Eagles.  Way to shoot low Claire for Low Medalist!!!

 

We'll be traveling to see this one this weekend!

 Well, Jesse is getting into the swing of things with his senior year as an EE major and will soon join the amazing MSU Eco Car team!  He's so excited!  MSU plays Memphis this Saturday, so Lance and I will make the trip and stay with him this weekend! 

Birdies & Rainbows!

Claire blasted a -3 today at Timber Truss (33) to led the SBA Eagles to another golf victory!  Way to go Claire!  A personal best for 9 holes!!  This rainbow made its appearance before she made a birdie on this hole!  Go Claire Go!

Tough day but Claire pulled it off!  Straight from the course to Homecoming with her fellow golfer friend Anderson.  Can't wait to hear how it all goes!  Have a blast Claire! I don't know which on I liked better her amazing side bubble braids (hard to see in the pics) or her epic foot golf tan.....

Well, her roll continues.  Claire shot a stellar 1 over par today at Timber Truss to defeat Northpoint and Fayette Academy!  Her team did not score well, but Claire's low numbers brought home the win anyway!  Go Claire go!!! Go Eagles!

 

She's on a roll.....

Well, SBA golf is in full swing..and since it's such a quick season due to the time change in October, they play all the time. Last week was the first full week of school and golf for Claire, and she posted rounds of 40, 34, and 37!!! Helping her team win 2 of those 3 matches.  And let me tell you, historically,  SBA girls' golf has never been great and rarely won matches ...Claire has decided to change that.  This week was the Annual FCA Golf 18 hole Tourney at Windyke and every single school in the Memphis area with a golf team participated.  She shot a 77 and I think got 7th?  She was in the morning group, so she went home after her round and then the pm group played...a little confusing.  But she played in the wettest conditions and 2 holes in torrential rain...so we are proud of that score!  Today she posted a 37 to win low medalist and pullout thewon for the entire SBA team vs Northpoint and Fayette Academy!  Go Claire go!!  Lot's more golf coming up...and a homecoming dance on the same day!  We will see how she pulls this out!?  Go Claire go!

 

Fed Ex Tournament Time

Well, a lovely weekend for some amazing golf at TPC Southwind.  Not only did Jesse come home for this, our nephew Dylan came and stayed with us and we had a blast.  He and Claire played Mirimichi on Friday, and on Saturday we spent the entire day following the pros!  A blast was had!!

 

Starting the season off with a bang!!

The 1st golf match of the SBA school golf season was today at Timber Truss against St Mary's, St. George's, Westminster, and Northpoint...and Claire posted a 38 for the low medalist title and a SBA win!!!! Way to go Claire for carrying your team today!!!

 

We have a junior!

It was bound to happen...we have an upperclassman!  Claire was all smiles today as she started her Junior year of high school at SBA.  Her first SBA golf match of the year is today...big day for Claire!  We pray for Claire to have a better year as far as friendships, classes, and that she keeps on being mighty! She's been driving all summer with us and some alone, and now she will be put to the test.....
