Welcome to the National Honor Society!

As we pivot into the golf off season, time to focus a tad more on school!  Claire was inducted into the National Honor Society today and workled hard to get there!  So proud of her efforts in school!  42 were inducted this year from the junior and senior class, and we are so very proud.  Go Claire go!

 

43 for Thanksgiving!!!

Other than the dreary rain, we had an absolute blast hosting my mom's entire side (and more!) for Thanksgiving yesterday.  I was in high stress mode when I saw that my plans for outside activities and dining were ruined, but we all pivoted to the garage (not my 1st choice) and made it work...Claire was an especially big help to me and my mom, who came the night before to prepare the turkey and dressing! We are so very Thankful for each other !

Lance turns 50!

Well, sweet Lance turned 50 and we will have had 3 days of celebrations by the time this is done with!!! On his actual Birthday the Tigers played at home, so we went to that.  It's been a rough year for the Tigers, but we won and cheered them on thank goodness!  Lance's work also threw him a work party complete with an apple pie!

 

Friday, we went to the Bar B Q shop with our parents, The Cardosi Family, and The Webster Family.  We played Lance car trivia and had a great time and great food!

Jesee came home for the weekend just for Lance!!!

Tonight I got Lance and I tickets to see Nate Batgatze at the orpheum...should be a blast.  Thank you Lance for being the best prodier, husbamd, and golf dad that exists!  We love you so much...Happy Birthday!!!

We finished up the birthday weekend with tickets to Lance's favorite comedian, Nate Bargatze.  He was a riot and we had an absolute blast.  Happy Birthday Lance!!

Proud Parent Moment!

Jesse Hollingsworth, a senior Electrical Engineering major at Mississippi State, has been selected for an internship with General Motors in Warren, Michigan. The internship will be with the Electrical Vehicle team in the Global Product Development division. This opportunity was extended to only a handful of students from across the country. He will be working as a hardware engineer to develop and test electric vehicles.

Claire has been a busy bee....

Claire played in a fun little one day last week at Mirimichi with her friend Shelby!

Claire and Lance flew Saturday to ATL for a one day whirlwind trip for SCAD Day. They even navigated the MARTA to get to SCAD from the airport! Claire got to meet professors, walk a schedule, do projects, and meet the girls golf team!  Lance was in charge of pictures, which is why there are so few of them....she loves this place.We shall see what the future holds for Claire !

Fall Happenings

Jesse and Emily taking advantage of pretty Starkvillle weekends!! Jesse has a big interview tomorrow am with GM in the electric car division.....sending prayers and good vibes for Jesse.

Emily will graduate in May and become an elementary ed teacher! Go Emily go!

Claire and I were tasked with babysitting the Murray's adorable guinnea pigs for a week!  Claire had a blast...I just cleaned...and cleaned!!!!

16th in the State of TN!

Claire had so many well wishers as she left for state last week!!! The day before we left there was a big box and it was new Ecco golf shoes from Lydia Ko to thank Claire for coming to watch her last weekend and for getting to state!!!  Claire shrieked! First of all, Claire REALLY wanted to place top 10...but a brutal Day 2 of putting prevented that.  She has big goals for next year.  But she played a really hilly and difficult Sevierville Golf Club Course and had a blast doing it.  We left a day early for state and went to Goodletsville, TN to watch a collegiate tourney that a coach invited her to.  She met all the players, and followed them each for a few holes.  She got to visit with the coach throughout the round and that was good.  I was afraid to take pictures because Claire didn't want me to be "that mom".  So I played it cool and didn't take a single pic.... The weather was so beautiful and we were blessed with 70's and sunshine!

So, yesterday Claire was having stuggles, and I can not make this up.  An eagle flew and landed next to Claire's hole and just stared at her group the entire hole.  I've never seen an eagle in the wild.  All the girls just stopped and took it in. A God moment for sure! After that Claire was all pars!! A good luck sign....

Claire is headed to State!!!

Claire fired a 76 today to qualify as an individual for the TSSAA State Golf Tourney in Sevierville, TN!  We are so proud of all her hard work and going above and beyond!!  Her AD Coach Dressman showed up and Coach Hervey cried!  She will play and rep West TN along with her friends from St. Mary's, St.Agnes, and Hutchison.  Go Claire go!!!

LPGA tourney weekend!

Claire was tickled to be invited again to the NWA LPGA Walmart Championship as a guest of Lydia Ko's this past weekend. Claire was on cloud nine all weekend. The pairing Saturday was Lydia, Nelly Korda, and Ally Ewing, who is a Mississippi State golf alum! Claire got to see so much amazing golf and interacted with Lydia throughout both days....not to mention perfect golf weather! The PGA needs to take a note from the LPGA book and make the tournaments affordable....all food, beer, and hard seltzers were under $5! A blast was had!
