College Golf Visits Here Comes Claire!

Well, let me start by saying that Claire thinks she wants to go into some sort of Interior Design.  Maybe even architecture, but she tends to skew toward ID.  Anyway, after that intesnsive camp this June, she really wanted to focus on schools with the best ranked accredited Interior Design programs around.  So in the spring she started researching ones all over the country with Girls' Golf Programs.  She looked at all different divisions, and still is.  She started writing to those coaches and sending out her video, resume, and letters.  She started getting intrigued with SCAD.  We had heard of it, but did not realize until recently that they were the number 1 ranked ID program in the nation....so she wrote the coach....and heard back.

Very long story short, we just returned from her 1st visit to SCAD Atlanta when she had her official school tour and the coach showed up and walked with her throughout the entire tour.  We were blown away.    Mind you this place is crazy expensive, so golf would be the only way she could go here....anyway after the school tour the coach took us to the local Bobby Jones course where the team practices most of the time...there are courses all over Atlanta that they use, but this one is the main one and we have never seen a course and practice facility like this....Claire was floored.

We parted ways and saw Atlanta as much as we could in a day.....we then drove to Guntersville, Al where she played in a 2 day at the hardest, longest, and undulated course Claire has ever played on....and the coach drove 3 hours from Atlanta to watch her play day 1.  Talk about nervous.....Claire struggled with the course, but so did everyone else!  She pulled out a 2nd place finish.  A weekend to remember...can't wait to see what the future holds for Claire!!

I thought this was a genius decorating idea....thread light fixtures in the fabric room!

Throught SCAD there are common areas decorated by students...this particular common area are haning chairs....claire shrieked

We took a quick trip to the amazing Georgia Aquarium and it did not disappoint!  Claire loved the views of midtown Atlanta from our hotel breakfast area....She was tired and not ready for pics, but she complied!

One we got to the tournament I did a horrible job of taking pics...hope to get some from Lance soon....the pic of this downhill slope does not do it justice.  It was so steep you could hear the brakes whining all over the course from all the steep inclines!!!  I got 16,000 steps each day.....that's a long course!  Claire pulled a 2nd place..not what she wanted, but she will take it!!!
